The Community Development
department seeks to collaborate with governmental,
not-for-profits, businesses, and community groups for the
collective betterment of our community. The department
functions in collaboration with the Whitley County Economic
Development Corporation on business retention and attraction
activities, while coordinating tax and utility incentives.
It also assists businesses and companies on utility-related
issues and acts as the City’s liaison to the Redevelopment
Commission and Downtown Business Association. Furthermore,
the department is tasked with managing large municipal
projects and drafting utility, street and other maps.
